Walking Rhode Island

John Kostrzewa, author of the Providence Journal column “Walking Rhode Island”, has been hiking for decades across the state. He’ll discuss the history of the areas where he has hiked and the variety of birds, trees, and geological features he has found, and will offer recommendations about where to walk and what to pack. Along the way, John will explain what makes RI’s trails unique and outline some of the challenges that Rhode Islanders face with regard to maintaining the state’s public places.
