Down on the Farm: The Last Dairy Farms of North Stonington

Wednesday, September 23rd at 7pm

At the end of WWII, there were over 5000 dairy farms in Connecticut. Currently, there are less than 150 farms still making milk commercially. This talk follows the operation of four, family-owned, dairy farms throughout the course of a year, and covers what it takes to get a gallon of milk onto the store’s shelves and the particular challenges today’s dairy farms face in Connecticut. This is a Zoom presentation.
